Mount Elbrus

Russia
Climb Elbrus with Adventure Dynamics. We organise fully guided expeditions. In the South-Eastern corner of Europe, a range of mountains stretches between the Black and the Caspian Seas. Known as the Caucasus, they are topped by one of the world’s most beautiful volcanoes, Mount Elbrus. At 5642m, Elbrus is Europe’s highest mountain, but it is also one of the world’s “7 summits”.
Climb Elbrus with Adventure Dynamics, a journey to Elbrus is not only a mountain adventure, it is a trip through time where the mysteriousness of Russian history can be experienced alongside the richness of its mountains and valleys.
Climbing Elbrus has the same physiological effects as climbing Kilimanjaro, except it is all ice and snow. The ascent is not technical and difficulties are normally altitude related. Being mostly snow however, Elbrus can be quite cold necessitating warm gear, and the use of ice axe and crampons.
Elbrus is more than just climbing the highest mountain in Europe. It’s about an adventure with a group of people putting aside their differences to achieve a common goal and dream. It’s about pushing your mind and body to new limits in a strange and exciting place.
The climbing season is from July to late August. Give or take a day or two on either side to fit in with the best connecting flights to Moscow.
Note: The Russian visa formalities are intricate and take time – you are therefore urged to book as early as possible.
