Located high in the Atlas Mountains in one of the most amazing countries on our planet – Morocco. Mount Toubkal rises to 4167m in altitude, the trek explores the area and goes on to climb the highest mountain in North Africa. Djebel Toubkal is the mountains full name and you will have views of the Sahara Desert from the high Atlas Mountains.

We begin in the ancient city of Marrakech where we are able to explore the exotic souks in the old Arab quarter and visit the famous Medina. The snow-capped summits of the high Atlas Mountains provide a magnificent back-drop to the ochre coloured buildings of the city.

This Adventure Dynamics Tour incorporates the city of Marrakech, the 3 day climb of Mount Toubkal (4167m) and a tour to the coastal town of Essaouira!

Woman are openly accepted in Marrakech and are not required the cover their heads. Restaurants and Bars serve alcohol and local attitude to male and female travellers is very hospitable. Morocco is a safe destination and very popular with European travellers with 10 – 20 million visitors each year.

Includes:

All airport transfers in Morocco, all transport, guiding on the mountain in a private group, all accommodation at a Riaad in Marrakesh (bed and breakfast sharing), meals as per programme, all tax at all airports, discounts on the purchase of personal equipment can be arranged, entrance fees for cultural visits, spacious tour bus, tour to the coastal Port of Essaouira and cooking course.

All flights, visas, travel insurance, soft drinks, bottled water or alcoholic beverages, items of personal nature,health requirements, hospitalisation and evacuation if required, single rooms (may be requested at an additional cost of 150 Euros), any additional expenses, fees for changes to flights and excess baggage payments, delay expenses outside itinerary, restaurant meals not indicated, city tours outside of programme, additional taxi’s required.

A minimum group size of 8
Mount Toubkal is a strenuous ascent, although the altitude is easier than Kilimanjaro
The ascent is non-technical and sometimes requires the use of walking crampons, an equipment list will be supplied

Your Adventure Day by Day

3 star traditional Riad with 2 people sharing, or an additional fee for a single room

Day 1: Welcome at the airport of Marrakech and transfer to your Riad inside the Medina of Marrakech.
Day 2: Drive from Marrakech to Hauuz Plain and on to the town of Imlil (1740m). This is situated in the agricultural Mizane valley. Acclimatisation walk to 2500m, sleep in basic lodge. (4 hours)
Day 3: From Imlil we begin our trek with a pleasant walk (6 hours) through groves of walnut trees to the Berber village of Aremd (1950m). From here we head up to Sidi Chamharouch, an Islamic shrine, and then on to the recently extended and comfortable Refuge Toubkal hut at a height of 3,207m. Night in bunks at the French Alpine Club Refuge (3300m).
Day 4: Summit day climb which takes approximately 5 to 6 hours for the average fit person. We start in the dark (time to be confirmed on the day) and reach the Tizi-n-Toubkal saddle (3941m) at sunrise. From the saddle we climb a ridge to the summit (4167m). From the summit we descend back to the refuge and have a light breakfast, pack up and descend all the way to the nearest village called Aremd. Drive back to Marrakech for a late arrival and check in.
Day 5: Marrakech: Today we discover the marvels of Marrakech, and you will be guided to the sites of Bahia Palace, Saadien Tombs and Kotoubia mosque, with free time in the afternoon.
Day 6: Excursion to Essaouira: Today we to take the road west to the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Our destination is the historic port of Essaouira, the modern name of the famous historic city of Mogador, a colourful coastal fishing town that offers an ocean climate, beautiful beach, a fishing port, impressive fortifications and a wonderful Medina. Visit the fortifications and the excellent factories who sell locally carved and polished thuya wood products. Visit the Skala and the port, the Jewish quarter and the government craft centre for silver. After enjoying time at the beach and in the souks we return back to Marrakech in the afternoon. Lunch is in a family guest house before we return to Marrakech in the late afternoon. (Lunch is for your own account).
Day 7: Free day in Marrakech, Moroccan Cooking class can be arranged at no additional cost.
Day 8: Transfer to the airport.
Day 9: Arrive Home.
